I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the recent events of our nation, specifically the election. So here is my perspective; we have worked hard as a nation to become more integrated and to look at people for who they are and not at what color or race they are. We have tried to come to know each other for what we believe in and for the things we do that shape our character. A wonderful idea but perhaps we got lost along the way. I’ve heard over and over comments concerning the election of Barack Obama-what a great and historic event it has been and how proud those who elected him are to have been a part of such an event.
Now the part that has me pondering and consequently troubled is the comment look how far we have come!! I guess that is meant to mean, look how far we have come that we look past race, gender and religion in our election process. That is admirable and I’m all for judging people for who they are and not how they look, but when I see who Barack Obama is in action I think that we have come full circle. By this i mean i think Mr Obama was elected because of his color and race and not for what he believes in or what he has done. I have a problem with his views, mainly because they change depending on who he talking to. I believe in family, the right to life, the right to own, buy, and use guns of all kinds. I believe I have the right to work and provide for my family, I believe I have a responsibility to be my brothers keeper, and by that I mean teaching him to fish not providing fish for him. I believe I have the responsibility to teach my family to have honor and integrity and I hope that my children do better than me in all that they do.
I hope I’m wrong and have nothing to worry about, but I don’t know because Mr Obama has never defined himself and his beliefs, as I said before he is different from one day to the next depending on the group of people he is speaking to. It’s my understanding that he would like to spread the wealth rather than teach people to create wealth, that he would try to regulate us into being our brothers keeper, and this all in the name of equality. Well I have news for Mr Obama life is not fair, let alone equal. If I chose to work harder and make wise decisions I should benefit from that decision and not be coerced to give the extra I have earned to those who have chosen to be idle and wait for the entitlements to come in. Part of what our country was founded on is that the fruit of our labor is our own. I believe that we, the people, with good intentions have empowered our government way to much in our quest for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Its my opinion we need to become a little more self sufficient and a little less dependent on government. .

This post was straight from my own heart! I recieved a comic during halloween that had some kids trick or treating and they knocked on a door and this guy came out and said "Look how much candy you have! I'm going to take half and give it to the kids too lazy to go trick or treating for themselves!" Then one of the kids says, "Oh crap a Democrat!" WE ARE IN FOR IT!!!! :)
